MCINTYRE: APPLAUDS NIHE RESPONSE AT KNOCKAVOE CRESENT!

SDLP Sh. Councillor Jim McIntyre and Sh. Councillor Anne Marie Blee thanked the Housing Executive on their response to the concerns of residents at the Knockavoe area.  For some time residents of Knockavoe have been lobbying to get the back lanes of their homes cleaned and made safe for use.

Mr McIntyre said, these lanes were in a very unsatisfactory condition and posed a risk to the elderly residents living there. For some time pensioners avoided using this lane as they feared slipping or tripping when taking out their bins. When our community officers investigated the issue they demanded an urgent clean up and review of the surface by NIHE. We are pleased the Executive have responded in the interests of the health and safety of residents and that the area is now cleaned and ready for use.

One Resident, Patricia Stewart thanked the SDLP for their help and support on the matter and said they have been trying to seek resolve to this issue for some time and got no support until the SDLP paid residents a visit.
