SDLP COMMUNITY TEAM DELIVERING FOR VICTORIA BRIDGE!!

McNamee and McCrossan working hard for Victoria Bridge!

The SDLP community team this week has praised the work of various departments for their speedy response to  concerns in relation to Victoria Bridge Strabane. In recent weeks the SDLP Community Team gave his attention to the local area and requested a response from the various authorities.

Party Community Officer Mary McCrossan said: "The SDLP team and I have been giving the Victoria Bridge area particular attention over the last six weeks. Many local residents expressed their concerns on a wide range of issues and asked that attention be given to them. Such issues ranged from the illegal parking of large vehicles in bus stops, the securement of the Victoria Bridge industrial factory, the placement of dog waste facilities around the local area and the cleaning and cutting of grass verges leading into Victoria Bridge, behind Breen Park."

"Thus far works are being carried out to ensure these public concerns are dealt with; many cases have now been taken care of. I would like to thank the Road service for taking care of the grass verges and would hope they continue in maintaining them to a level of satisfaction. I would also like to thank Helen Howe from Environmental Health for her appreciation of the dangers of the Victoria Bridge Industrial Estate."

Party Campaigns Officer Paul McNamee said: "This factory has proven a constant worry for the local people of Victoria Bridge as they fear children may easily enter the dilapidated compound. The gates have now been locked and sealed with further securing to a cut fence to be carried out. I would ask that those who insist on continually entering the site to have some appreciation of the dangers they present to the public by cutting the bolts on those gates. The police have been informed and will be keeping a close surveillance on the entire Victoria Bridge area. Across the next few weeks a number of dog waste facilities will be situated around the local area to ensure responsible dog owners have the appropriate facilities to dispose of dog waste."

This is merely a few examples of the many issues which have recently come to light. If there are similar problems in your area please feel free to contact my team in Strabane and we will do our best to assist you.
