Strabane SDLP
Office’s First Birthday
This week the Strabane SDLP team
celebrates its first year back at the heart of the Strabane district and the
needs of the Strabane people. The 29th September is a date to
remember for the Strabane team as one year ago a new team came together and
outlined a new strategic plan for Strabane and its future, Constituency Representative,
Daniel McCrossan said this week.
Mr McCrossan said, On Saturday we are opening our doors to the public and welcoming the Strabane people to join us for a few hours on our very worthwhile celebrations. It’s one year since we began operations at Butcher Street and our small team has grown now into a great team of very talented, dedicated and enthusiastic people.
I have to offer a big thank you to our
many supporters in the business sector, to our many members and to all our
followers from across the district, not only for believing in us and the
Strabane project throughout our new vision of a better future for our Strabane
people, but for their absolute support in our strategy and day to day running
of what we now call the peoples SDLP.
I will be the first to say that this
project was not easy; I will also be the first to say that in the past we did
not do as much as we could of for the district and our people? However I would
also like to be the first to reassure every individual across this district
that a year ago we launched a new beginning for the SDLP, we elected new
representatives, we appointed new representatives, and we built a new team of
active community workers and established an extremely active youth group. We
did all this because we care about Strabane, we care about our Strabane people
and we care about our youth and their futures and need for support. Our message
is simple, the new SDLP are here for all the people of Strabane and district, and
we will do our outmost to support our communities as much as we possibly can in
these very difficult times because we are here to represent you!
The support across the year has been
mind blowing but also worrying as the levels of people who need support in
these harsh times steadily rise. In the
last two/three months, our Strabane office has received 2131 phone calls from
the public in relation to a diverse range of important issues. Our office staff
are always busy with appointments and visits. We have sent thousands of letters
across the town and wider district with results of works completed but also
letting people know that we are here and here to help.
We are your SDLP.
