SDLP West Tyrone MLA Joe Byrne has paid tribute to the staff at
various nursing and elderly homes in Strabane for their sterling work,
particularly at Christmas.
The SDLP Strabane team travelled around various local nursing
homes this week in the run up to the festive season.
SDLP Sh. Cllr Anne Marie Blee provided musical entertainment at
Wood Mount Nursing home and Melmount Manor, where many joined in and sang along
to some of their favourite songs.
SDLP Constituency Representative, Daniel McCrossan said “It has
been a pleasure to visit and spend a few hours with the residents of Wood Mount
and Melmount Manor. I would like to thank the staff on behalf of the SDLP for
their fantastic work and dedication to the people they care for and look after.
The work our local carers are doing must not go unnoticed and their service to
the local community strongly applauded and appreciated especially at Christmas.
“We look forward to visiting Green Field this Thursday to spread further Christmas cheer. We must never forget the importance of our senior citizens especially at Christmas.”
