SDLP COMMUNITY TEAM DELIVER
FOR CLADY RESIDENTS!!
SDLP Community activists Mary McCrossan and Kieran Blee this
week welcomed the news that more dog waste bins will be placed in the village
of Clady.
Mr Blee said “Dog fouling has been a persistent problem in
the area for quite some time. The problem is not dog fouling but that dog waste
is not being cleaned up and disposed of properly. This upsets residents and
leaves the area looking untidy and un-kept.”
“Furthermore dog waste is a health and safety risk when it
is left on the ground. Children who use the local green to play on risk
stepping in dog waste and in turn can make its way into people’s homes. This is
not acceptable when considering the potential risk of infection that dog waste
carries.”
“The SDLP team have been working with Strabane District
Council to have dog waste bins placed in areas where the problem is persistent.
The new bins should be in place within the next number of weeks.”
Mary McCrossan has further welcomed the news and added “I am
happy to hear that new dog waste bins will be erected in Clady. I would like to
call on all responsible dog owners to make full use of the dog waste bins around
the district and help keep Strabane tidy.”
